Malaysia is a vibrant country with more than 30 million people, located in the center of Southeast Asia. Culturally diverse with plenty of natural resources, the country offers beautiful beaches, unique festivals, and delicious cuisine that you wouldn’t want to miss.

Malaysia’s rich culture – due to the various ethnicities living in the country – is one of the main reasons why it is such an appealing destination for international students. The cost of living is also more affordable compared to other countries.

The government’s ultimate goal is to make the country a major education hub in the region. Aside from world-class and home-grown universities, Malaysia is also home to foreign university branches. This means you can still receive top-notch education at a lower price when you study in Malaysia.

If you choose to live in its most expensive city, the cost of living in Malaysia is very low. This makes it a great destination for many expats – especially retirees looking to keep their expenses to a minimum.

Housing costs are quite low (about 72% less than the U.S.), while the overall cost of living is about 43% less expensive. For retirees looking to stretch their savings, Malaysia is a destination worth considering.

From city life to island living, you can enjoy it all in Malaysia. The people are friendly, the weather is warm, and the beaches are beautiful. And, perhaps most importantly, it will cost you a whole lot less to live there than it will to live in the U.S., Europe, or other Asian countries.

In Malaysia, courses are mainly taught in English. Hence, you must be able to communicate in written and spoken English should you wish to study in Malaysia. Some universities also require you to take an English proficiency test like TOEFL or IELTS, which you can take in your home country.

For postgraduate programs, most of the good universities ask for a first-class or high second class. In the undergraduate level most of the good universities look for a 60 % or higher. There are many students who have been admitted to colleges at UK with a second-class degree. There are cases where significant work experience is considered lieu to a Bachelor’s degree.

The normal English language proficiency requirement for most of the universities is 5.5 to 6.5 on IELTS or 79 on TOEFL (preferably IELTS with a score of 5.5to 6.5 or TOEFL of score 79) as these tests could be additional prerequisites while processing your visa
